Cancellation / Refund Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

This policy explains the general cancellation and refund rules for Your Website Made Simple projects. The signed project agreement, proposal, order form or invoice for a specific project may contain additional or different terms, and those project-specific terms control if there is a conflict.

Before Work Begins

If a project is cancelled before substantive work begins, we will review any amounts already paid and any non-refundable third-party costs already incurred. Refund eligibility depends on the applicable project agreement and the work or expenses already committed.

Deposits

A deposit may be required to reserve production time and begin work. Whether a deposit is refundable or non-refundable will be stated in the project agreement or invoice. Once work has begun, amounts attributable to completed work, reserved production time and committed costs may be non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.

Work Already Performed

If a client cancels after work has started, Your Website Made Simple may retain amounts reasonably attributable to work performed, approved milestones, reserved production capacity and authorized expenses. If the amount paid exceeds amounts properly due under the agreement, any refundable balance will be handled according to the project agreement and applicable law.

Third-Party Costs

Domain registrations, hosting plans, software subscriptions, stock assets, licenses, payment-processing fees, booking tools, email services, databases, automation services and other third-party purchases may be non-refundable or subject to the provider’s own policy. Once purchased or activated on a client’s behalf, those costs are not refundable by us unless the third-party provider refunds them to us.

Client Delays and Project Inactivity

Project timelines depend on timely client content, approvals, credentials and feedback. If a project becomes inactive because required client materials or responses are not provided, the schedule may be paused and the project may be moved out of its original production slot.

If a project remains inactive for an extended period, we may require a revised timeline or reactivation fee if stated in the project agreement. A project may be treated as abandoned only as permitted by the applicable agreement and after reasonable notice.

Scope Changes and Revisions

Refunds are not generally issued merely because a client changes direction after approving a scope, design direction, milestone or completed work. Material changes may require a revised quote and schedule. Included revision rights are governed by the project agreement.

Completed and Approved Work

Once a deliverable or milestone has been completed and approved, fees associated with that approved work are generally not refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in the project agreement.

Launch and Final Delivery

After final approval, launch, transfer or delivery of the completed website, refunds are generally not available for completed services. Any post-launch correction, warranty or support obligations are limited to what is specifically included in the project agreement.

Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us first at support.wms@hotmail.com so we can review the issue. Initiating a chargeback does not cancel contractual payment obligations for validly delivered services, and we may provide project records, approvals and communications to a payment processor when responding to a payment dispute.

Automatic Renewals or Recurring Services

Website packages do not automatically create a recurring subscription unless recurring service is expressly selected. If an ongoing service uses automatic renewal, the renewal terms, cancellation method and required notices will be disclosed in the applicable agreement and handled in accordance with applicable law.

How to Cancel or Request a Refund Review

Send a written request to support.wms@hotmail.com with your name, business name, project identification and reason for the request. We will review the applicable agreement, work completed, expenses incurred and amounts paid before confirming any cancellation balance or refund eligibility.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund, cancellation or consumer-protection rights that apply under law. Where mandatory law provides greater protection, that law controls.
